Much of MadGods inspiration is derived from the remnants of past culture. These veins of originality are no longer with us in the form of authentic style and rebellion that existed in the formative years of youth culture, music, skateboarding and the independent artist. Most only recognize the patterns left in the wake of original influence.

MadGods has always taken a fondness to the interpretation of our own subcultures by foreign voyeurs, more specifically, the methodical breakdown of western music and skateboarding imagery and styles by Japanese Otaku cool hunters at the turn of the millennium. Using this fondness as a filter of sorts, we touch on realms of thought that we once believed were slowly becoming extinct with a new generation of youth that don’t remember a world before the internet. Using a familiar aesthetic, we perfect the art of dressing sheep in wolf’s clothing.

MadGods is on twitter…

April 14th, 2009

As of today MadGods is on twitter. So far 5 people are following. If articles from every major news outlet in the world are right, these may be the 5 most important people in my life now. So to them my  first tweet went like this:

“Twitter me this… is twitter like Asher Roth? Hype media darling now, unproven in the battleground of life? btw U r a TWAT if u read this.”

I really want to know. Is twitter gonna remain the truth that so much of the media tells us it is? Same goes for Asher Roth. Am I old, or is it natural for me to be distrustful of things that I learn from mass media instead of being filtered through my usual sieve of friends? I had the same feelings about Oxycontin. Both Twitter and Asher Roth obviously have some skills but can they live up to the hype? I’ve joined twitter, and the thanks goes to Franksta who signed me up. Perhaps now, someone else can send me a link to Asher Roths new album….

Here are a pair of ‘articles’ (quotes cuz they are from blogs and contain few facts and many opinions) discussing the matters individually. Only here at Madgods.com/blog do we engage in the hardhitting comparison’s of todays crucial topics. Piracy? that’s so 1700′s. Obama who? Recession? Hardly even knew her… Anyway, SLATE talks about twitter and XXL talks about Asher.

mg-twitterAnd yo. I would provide you with a link so that you too may follow my genius encapsulated into 140 characters or less but I don’t know how. That is, I don’t know where you go to to “follow  me”….I haven’t learned that yet. But YOU should know how to. Cuz if you’re cool enough to be reading this you should already know how twitter works.
