Much of MadGods inspiration is derived from the remnants of past culture. These veins of originality are no longer with us in the form of authentic style and rebellion that existed in the formative years of youth culture, music, skateboarding and the independent artist. Most only recognize the patterns left in the wake of original influence.

MadGods has always taken a fondness to the interpretation of our own subcultures by foreign voyeurs, more specifically, the methodical breakdown of western music and skateboarding imagery and styles by Japanese Otaku cool hunters at the turn of the millennium. Using this fondness as a filter of sorts, we touch on realms of thought that we once believed were slowly becoming extinct with a new generation of youth that don’t remember a world before the internet. Using a familiar aesthetic, we perfect the art of dressing sheep in wolf’s clothing.

So like a week ago the image below was posted on facebook.

This is a picture of the 3 main stars of the Harry Potter movie franchise in a promo shot recently taken for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. On the end is Rupert Grint. He happens to be rockin one of our garments. The “Warhol” we call it sometimes.
This is cool cuz Wizard’s and shit are cool. He’s an especially cool wizard because he does not get top billing- yet he still gets the girl AND saves his buddy, the star, multiple times.
So naturally this is fun news for us. We love this kind of stuff since it’s not like we can say,”oh yeah, we just reached out to Grint’s publicist and she made it happen cuz she owes me..” Nope, somebody bought that shit, which means it has legitimate appeal. That’s nice to know.
So the obvious course of action is to immediately post that shit up, right? WRONG…. i’m a serious muthafuckin’ blogger who needs to investigate things before I shamelessly promote myself. Besides, you can’t even see the shirt. I could be lying to you that this ever happened, like the moon landings. So i did some investigating and this is what i found:
