RANDOLPH!!! 2 ART SHOWS!!!
by MG001 August 13th, 2009
Randy Muniz is one of our primary artists here at MadGods and he kills it- being responsible for several of our best sellers as a major contributor to our Illuminati collection. Although his expressions with design have great appeal, his fine art is on another level. We are slowly adapting that fine art into our collection of tee’s, with Ghostland Observatory frontman Aaron Behrens being one the first people to fall in love with it.
But check it out, after sweating out 50+ days of triple degree heat, Randy has produced some new pieces (and dusted off some old ones, too) and is involved in two different group shows this August and September.

In times of troubled assets relief programs (TARP), we look to art and culture for comfort. Our lona – our cover – is in the creative process. This 14th annual Young Latino Artists exhibition, TARP ? lona, serves as a vehicle where viewers may strip away complexities and obstructions in order to reflect, develop new approaches and move forward… to find their lona.
This one’s opening reception goes down manana, ya’ll- Friday, August 14th at the famous and historical MexicArte Museum right in the middle of downtown. Curated by Eduardo Xavier García YLA 14 / Serie XVI means 14th Young Latino Artists Series. I’ve seen a preview and it’s good. I’m really looking forward to this, partly because I know it’s going to be solid and partly because the hosting gallery is a major art epicenter in the City of Austin. Hope you get a chance to experience it.

Running since July 18th, but with a closing reception September 3rd is “In the House — An A12 Exhibition” inside the The FAB Gallery at the Doty Fine Arts Building. A12 is a critique group consisting of 12 former UT Artists who meet and critique together as a catalyst for the creation of new work and organization of shows as a group of individual artists. This should be a good show because this is a very talented and diverse group of artists. I’m headed there this weekend and should be at the reception as well. The location is on campus. Here’s directions.
