Much of MadGods inspiration is derived from the remnants of past culture. These veins of originality are no longer with us in the form of authentic style and rebellion that existed in the formative years of youth culture, music, skateboarding and the independent artist. Most only recognize the patterns left in the wake of original influence.

MadGods has always taken a fondness to the interpretation of our own subcultures by foreign voyeurs, more specifically, the methodical breakdown of western music and skateboarding imagery and styles by Japanese Otaku cool hunters at the turn of the millennium. Using this fondness as a filter of sorts, we touch on realms of thought that we once believed were slowly becoming extinct with a new generation of youth that don’t remember a world before the internet. Using a familiar aesthetic, we perfect the art of dressing sheep in wolf’s clothing.

Nice Kicks Grand Opening featuring ya’lls truly, MadGods.

February 2nd, 2010

Maaaaaaan. It is going down-down-dowwwn! Nicekicks.com (if you don’t know you better click) is opening it’s first ever retail location right in the middle of the ATX!!! It’s gonna be on Guadalupe between 28th and 29th streets near Buffalo Exchange, the Drag, Spiderhouse, Trudy’s, ToyJOy  and all of that. The spot is brand new and is gonna be serious. Check out the talent founder Matt Halfhill has coming on the flyer. (remember when they dropped that Mind Playing Tricks On Me re-mix joint for those Black Friday’s?) And that’s just the official guests!! Who knows who else might show up? I’ve heard rumors. But we’ll be there reppin hard, as MadGods was chosen to be one of the few brands selected for the inauguration of this highly anticipated grand opening event. And we’re loving our logo on this flyer!! Seriously, this dood went from 14thousand to 16thousand twitter followers in the span of just 2 meetings. His shoe game is recognized by the likes of Marc Ecko who currently has Matt running a column in Complex Magazine. This is kind of a big deal for anyone who loves kicks, dope music and MadGods tee shirts!
