So BIG THANKS to Asmara Wreksono of SOJONES TV, who did an article about MadGods during our visit to the S.L.A.T.E. show at Magic in Las Vegas. SOJOnes is a website dedicated to covering the new ish first, which to me, makes them more interesting than some of the more high profile fashion and streetwear sites out there. Digging through their articles, you see what those who attend these industry events get to see- lines that are brand new or underground. Some you may not get to see again for awhile depending on your region and how quickly (or if) they are picked up by the mainstream sources. Of course there is great and needed coverage of the usual suspects at the most visited sites, but the material can be narrow and repetitive. There really is a lot out there to cover. You can bet that some lines you see on SOJONES today, you will see spread prolifically in the future.
And uh, yes, I was totally, uh, caught off guard by this situation and it was, uh, very early in the morning and yes I was out the night before. So uh, yeah, whatever- I said “uh” a lot during the interview. I think I just took my medicine before.
Just for the helluvit, I’m gonna make this a TRIO video post. Here is an older interview from 2008 of MadGods at the AGENDA show in San Diego. This was done by some (not even THAT big) Maori brothers who rep a Kiwi site called SOUQBAZAAR. Souqbazaar is another of those situations where a more regional site does deeper coverage than their more high profile counterparts. Advantage, MadGods.
And to top off the webvid hat trick, when you search MadGods on youtube, the first thing that comes up is a death metal band from Eastern Europe called Madgod. I wonder if they see us when they search their name? Here’s some live footage that makes me proud. Hey Madgod, if ya’ll are reading this. I can’t figure exactly what country you are from or even what language ya’ll speak, but holla at your boy. I got some shirts for you.
